 The Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund Story

ABOUT US

Established in November 2012, Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund was founded by Sara Stevens Nerone and her two daughters, Sophie and Phoebe Nerone, both adopted from Vietnam by Sara and her late husband, Chris.

In 2011 following the illness and death of Chris, the family temporarily moved to Vietnam to get away and volunteer for a non-profit. While living there, the Nerone's taught art classes at a local orphanage, and Sophie, a talented violinist, began teaching a local student named Tuan, to play. Before leaving Vietnam, Sophie and Tuan had 10 young violin students, supported through donations from a friend.

Once back in the U.S., the family decided to start Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund to continue teaching music and art to underprivileged kids in Vietnam.
